In addition to being a native speaker Brandon’s mastery of English grammar and writing has grown considerably over the last fifteen years.

Spanning two continents his three degrees in higher education are in the humanities and have depended upon an ever-improving understanding and command of English grammar, acquired through a plethora and wide variety of writing and linguistic assignments. Most recently, Brandon graduated with distinction from Middlesex University for a thesis on the history of violence in the late Ottoman Empire. Additionally, he is currently a PhD Candidate in the Middle Eastern Studies department at the University of Groningen, where his research and writing is focused on the influence of American religious groups on U.S.-Ottoman diplomatic relations at the end of the nineteenth century.

Professionally and within the same field of study he has edited two volumes of English primary source material and published these locally in Istanbul (The Isis Press, 2023 and 2024). Totaling over 650 pages, Brandon brought these archival documents through processes of transcribing, editing, copyediting, proofreading, and formatting for publication. As such, together with his other original contributions to his field of study, these volumes are examples of his editorial expertise, his writing abilities, as well as his careful attention to detail in all matters related to English grammar.
